Gold jumps on poor performance and aircraft crash
Gold has hit an all time high today, pushing past its previous high of US$2790 and is now eyeing $2800 as we speak.
Pricing has jumped on the recent and ongoing sharemarket woes around an AI bubble, and today’s aircraft crash in Washington DC. The aircraft incident involved a military helicopter and a commercial airline. No survivors have been found.
President Trump has immediately blamed diversity hiring as the cause. Both helicopter pilots were sufficiently trained and qualified to fly. The only information provided so far, is that the acting pilot had 500 flight hours recorded and the secondary instructor pilot had 1000 flight hours recorded. Additionally, the Reagan Air Traffic Control Tower was reportedly understaffed at the time.
US sharemarkets have recovered somewhat since the AI news turmoil around DeepSeek. And while this new AI product is looking to gain more and more market traction, competitor ChatGPT has stepped forward claiming that DeepSeek literally took its data through what is called ‘distilling’. With such a public facing business model, accessing data from chatGPT can be completed very efficiently via API. So what has taken many years to compile through ChatGPT could be distilled into a new LLM (Large language model) within a very short time. This is the first public instance of an LLM being used to created another LLM.
